Many analysts in the neighborhood of China show anxiety over the Russia-China bonhomie. Their concerns are valid, but the reasons are not. All these countries need not worry but rather be vigilant so that the fast-changing geopolitical vista doesn’t spring surprises.

It is unlikely India needs to worry about Russia’s and China’s alliance, as their main focus will move away from the Sub-continent to Israel. The BRI that will be of most interest to China will be the one through Iran and Turkey. The one that will be of most interest to Russia will be through Ukraine, Moldova, etc., via Turkey to Israel. They are not likely to pursue the one through the northern mountains of Georgia as the infrastructure is lacking compared to an western descent to Israel. India, the US and the entire western hemisphere will be more like bit players in these events.

How to understand Russia’s invasion of the Ukraine? To what does this unilateral action compare? Turkey’s invasion of Cyprus in 1974… A more ancient act of imperialism, the Anglo-Norman invasion of Ireland took place during the late 12th century.
The latter example not now nearly as pertinent as the former. The issue at stake, centers not upon Russian interests to keep the Ukraine out of joining NATO, but rather the disgrace of UN hypocrisy and its silence to denounce and condemn this latest invasion by countries who dream, think France, that they should merit the status as a ‘Great Power’ in Europe.
The UN repeats and perpetuates this continuous drip-cowardice; the UN condemns repeatedly ad infinitum the Jewish State of Israel. Yet when China pulls shtik with the Uyghurs of Xinjiang, likewise comparable to the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, UN piety immediately loses its religion. Therefore, it seems to me that Nations should respond to UN hypocrisy by withdrawing membership from this House of Cards club.

Sorry but I beg to differ. The Russia\China axis thrived during the Stalin\Mao era. China faces similar fuel crisis as did Japan during WWII. Formosa and the Japanese Islands make control of the ocean quite formidable. Therefore China would very much like to conquer Taiwan. For China to fight and win a war that would most probably trigger multi-national involvement, it requires a secure ally which can supply it with oil and gas. Russia fits that need to a tee.
Mao rejected Khrushchev’s denunciation of Stalin war crimes. That’s when Sino–Russian relations turns south. Russia, even after the fall of the USSR, remains the odd man out among Nato dominated Western European governments. The West, currently jabbering about sanctions blah blah. The Art of War centers upon crippling the supply lines of the enemy. Those supply lines represent the underbelly of the beast. Quite naturally all belligerent nations understand this critical weakness. A Sino-Russian alliance make tremendous good strategic sense for a new Cold War Russia.

An alliance is possible but that would be weaker as good alliance requires strategic relations from the both end. Due to the nature of China (very selfish nature of CCP), Russia does not give it much importance. China has too long plan that includes killing of Putin too and world is getting ready face it. Read six wars china is sure to fight in the next 50 years where last war would be taking back of lands lost to Russia.
Just for readers: Formosa Island is Taiwan now.

Total speculation that completely out in space. China assassinate Putin, where’d you pull that out of the sky? Russia down plays China? Same question equally applies. Any one can make pie in the sky declarations as you have done. Proof … that’s something all together different. The World does not need a crazy Xtian priest yelling a blood libel!!! Dude ya really need to slow down. Formosa/Taiwan duh. During WWII the Japanese ruled “Formosa”. Again — Duh!
