India’s Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri baffles the BBC interviewer with colonial mindset:
I see hubris and ego in both parties here. India can define development, progress, and success however they wish. As can Britain and the EU. It is not for one to determine whether the goals and achievements of the other are worthy. In many ways, I see the EU as slipping in development… my definition… and needing to point elsewhere so as not to see their increasing shortcomings.

Well, generally BBC is off their rockers, establishing their own version of “reality” based on whatever their owners tell the interviewers and news anchors to believe. Once one of the most trusted names in journalism, BBC has fallen to third world status BELOW India. Hardeep Singh Puri needs to be more discretionary on who he lets interview him.😉
Despite all the hype about India’s growth, stubborn issues like poverty, inequality, and poor governance continue to hold the country back, and politicians seem more interested in quick fixes than real, lasting change. Lofty government projects are no substitute for serious reform, especially when millions remain stuck in unproductive agriculture and youth unemployment is soaring. The failure to overhaul outdated laws and policies means only a tiny percentage of the population is truly skilled, while most people are denied genuine opportunities for advancement. On top of that, corruption, social division, and protectionist habits undermine any progress, keeping prosperity out of reach for the majority. Unless leaders commit to deep, systemic change, India is likely to stay trapped in mediocrity, unable to fulfill its potential as a developed nation.
This is very well brought out. Corruption and societal division are some of the biggest things keeping India down. Opportunistic politics gave way to freebies and killed various reforms. Thank you for stopping by and sharing your thoughts.

I live in a so called “developed” country. Yet there is an enormous gap between rich and poor.
