Tumbling Evergrande Caged Tech Giants: China Much Desperate More Dangerous

An ancient Chinese stratagem advises military leaders: โ€œLoot a burning house.โ€ The trick is easy and self-explanatory โ€” attack when your opponent is most vulnerable. China has given, this and many other hideous ancient wisdom, paramount importance in the quest for โ€˜Pax Sinicaโ€™.

After the 2008-09 financial crisis, Chinese firms ventured out to procure discounted bargains worldwide, especially those with strategic utility: iron & nickel ore, oil, and innumerable other commodities that the Chinese economy became dependent on. Thanks to the debacle in Afghanistan, China has successfully deflected the COVID-19 blame and taken a head start in manufacturing. They also have a mouthwatering proposition to exploit the vulnerable situations in Afghanistan.

But despite the world presenting such opportunities, China is staring at stagnant population growth, tumbling business models, and failed โ€˜Common Prosperityโ€™ program. Xi Jinping and the Chinese Communists Party (CCP) have nothing to show to ordinary citizens before Party Congress in 2022. Is the world heading for another China-created crisis? After all, China loves Milton Friedmanโ€™s disaster capitalism.

As always, insightful, informative – and eye-opening; especially regarding Milton Friedman: Oh, my goodness! Thanks so much for sharing with us here!

      2. Thank you so much, Dโ€™Nanda. China can twist and mold any policy and theory to its advantage. The idea is to keep the party supreme. Xi Jinping has gone one step further and declared himself supreme, and for that purpose, he has purged every opposition from the party. Replaced every general from PLA and caged the very tech giants who were stealing important technology for China. Xi is like an oil lamp. When the oil lamp is about to extinguish it gives spectacular light, creating the misconception that the lamp has become efficient.

Do you find that The Quad are seeing/moving against any of this? Or beginning to do so, Sandomina?

      6. I feel Quad is moving in the right direction but at a much slower pace than it should. There is no doubt that China is just one entity, whereas Quad has 4 permanent members and many associated members, therefore getting the consensus and moving forward takes time. However, they have to find a solution to that else China is heading for a showdown at a much faster pace than Nazi Germany.

      8. See, the Chinese provocation and breach of Taiwanese airspace are continuously increasing. I had predicted that over a year ago. I had also started that one of these dummy exercises would turn into a real invasion and the world would be a mute spectator. Quad is doing fine militarily, though they should be ready for the doomsday scenario. The next step is to squeeze China economically. The United States has created this monster and only the US has the economic muscle power to throttle them.
My only fear is that if they don’t have a strategy, then what?

Very well summed up trategies of the China who is intent as Hawk to pounce on each &every opportunity presentable in the unstable & vulnerable Afghanistan!China deploys lot of brain power to recognise such opportunities and take full advantage!Lets speculate as to how much time the world takes to pinpoint the “herd of enemies of the world” & take decisive measures before its too late! But then God only helps those who help themselves!

  5. Europe sold out first to Japan, and now to China. It is digging its own grave because of greed.
“At the end of completion of all phases, the previously unacceptable policies which were not to the liking of countries/citizens can be justified and made a permanent fixture, in the name of crisis. ”
This also describes perfectly what happened and is still happening in Europe (and the rest of the world, I presume) during the COVID-Pandemic. Capitalist fascism rules, and many of the new fascist rules that nobody wants, will remain as laws. The degree of fascism that our Minister of State wanted to introduce in Denmark in 2020 was breathtaking. Luckily the opposition woke up from their COVID-shock-fairy-slumber and voted against her.
Milton Friedman’s ideas are being used globally here and now.

    1. Thank you so much for sharing valuable inputs from Europe, where China is making massive inroads into every walk of life. Pre-COVID I used to visit Europe every year, 4-5 times, and I could see slow and steady but alarming changes China was bringing to that continent, which locals could not see.

      3. I don’t remember exactly, but I can find out. A Finnish comic artist made comic story about this topic, but I think Finland would be the last country to embrace something like that. She lives in America now, maybe I was wrong and it was America? But I will find out.

      5. I don’t have proof for it right now, but I think it was Germany and the UK where the discussion came up. Definitely in America. We actually are already doing something like it by rating customer service after talking to a service person. And In America they openly show, in some companies, where each employee is in the ranking list. The next step is to publiclly rate behaviour and give points. We are already on our way. In future I will only give splendid rates, no matter how the service was.
