Donald Trump attended the U.S. Open Men’s Final on Sunday, where he was met with boos and jeers from the crowd. The United States Tennis Association sent a memo to broadcasters, including ESPN and Sky Sports, urging them to minimize attention on any disruptions or reactions connected to the President’s presence at the event. Even some staunch MAGA supporters are feeling disillusioned now.
My perception is that Jimmy Carter was our last true leader, and after his “Crisis of Confidence” speech he lost many followers because, as a real Christian he called people to be willing to sacrifice for the common good.
JFK had done this with great success, but from 1960 to 1980 our nation had finally turned its back on The God Who Is (Jesus) and we had become a nation of selfish narcissists, which is how we elected Clinton, Obama and Trump.
Since then, before his death, Carter went off the rails with some antisemitism and unorthodox views of salvation, but he was our last truly honest president, espousing Judeo-Christian values while he was in office.
Lots of bullshit right there.
